I was concerned for both LJ and his camera when he wiped out, but I l'd mao about the first 6 times I saw the tape of it.... the sound is the best part...

Thanks for the compliments yall.
Pico, its a Sony a100 with the 18-200mm lens on. I usually start out out with it on auto and adjust from there.

Yeah, it was the little 'umph' noise that got to me and then the still shot after the camera landed. It was classic comedy. I assumed that since he kept it in there, he though it was funny too.

This is a great thread, great pictures, great video,
It's kinda romantic. The background music made it whimsical. Even the wipe out tugs at the heart. It was an awww moment. Although I almost choked on my butterhorn.

I thought you did it on porpoise. I laughed out loud for sure! Previous to that moment, you had a whole Blair Witch Project thing going on.

LJ, you have a gorgeous family. And I must admit I LOLed when you tripped. No serious damage I hope? If it makes you feel any better about me laughing at you, I DID wake the baby up... -le sigh-

LJ has a great sense of humor for including that clip and putting it in front.

Ah - I didn't follow up on this thread after seeing the first post because I was waiting to take my own (shamefully amateur) Autumn pictures.

Still, I was delighted to see why the Americans set such store by the Fall.
I enjoyed the Fall so much in this video it inspired me to want to go to America next year. I'd love to see the Fall first hand. I haven't seen anything in England (in fact in the Uk, the British Isles or even Europe) that matches the Fall here.

I thoroughly congratulate you for capturing the Fall in all its glory.

PS - genuinely, lovely vid. Apart from the bit that looked like beetles crawling all over the screen, too close to the DTs for me.

Dude, that part was the fucking best! I was thinking "Blair LumberJim Project."
The part I found funny was the musical selections to go along with Autumn in Nature. I was expecting Poulenc, Debussy or Ravel.

Get down with your bad cameraman self!

No he collapsed just for a minute so he wouldn't have to run anymore. His way of being coy about taking a break.

you're both right.

it's funny. I can do a freaking hour and a half on the treadmill, and keep my composure pretty well. halfway up the hill on this trail though, and i was gasping for breath. fucking jinx is a slavedriver too.

here's a bit more from that day:
