Handclap games



Does anyone remember doing this kind of thing as a child? For some reason I was thinking about this last night. I even began to remember some of the rhymes we said while clapping. Let's share the rhymes we remember.

Miss Lucy had a steamboat
The steamboat had a bell
Miss Lucy went to heaven
The steamboat went to...
Hell-o operator
Give me number 9
And if you disconnect me
I'll kick you from...
Be-hind the frigerator
There was a piece of glass
Miss Lucy sat upon it
And broke her little...

We had one hauntingly similar to that but I can't recall it. It had the as...k me no questions, tell no lies bit in it.

There was one we used for skipping....can't recall more than the first couple of lines:

Not last night,
but the night before
23 robbers came
knocking at my door...

That one's all back & forth - my favourites were up & down and where you had to do actions in between too.
