Those are lovely, Razz! What a fun idea. What kind of paint does one use for skin? I think I might want to try something like that...my step-daughter would get a kick out of it.

I just used my acrylics...fast dry and easy cleanup

I had to buy some gold to make my treasure-box (which I think I told you guys about) and since I'm messy as always I ended up with it all over myself, which sparked the idea.

I might go back for some more metallic colors because they look the coolest on skin.

I haven't finished this painting yet, but I figure since I have blogged about it, I may as well share the little preview here that I included in the blog:

This isn't the whole thing, but I haven't finished it, so I don't want anyone to see the unfinished parts right now.

case, that's a great eye.
It looks so real, like a real human eyeball.

It's not a real human eyeball, is it?

No, I could not find anyone willing to donate their eyeball to my project, so I had to paint one. But I fooled you, didn't I?

I really like the variety of color in the fish scales. Looking forward to the rest!

thanks, Choco. I think I just finished this one last night, actually. Some of this original image is different, now, but I want to wait to post it until I get some really good high res images.

This painting is absolutely amazing. It's even more amazing in person than it is digital. Awesome Case! :-)

I have finished the fishie girl:

"Unremitting"
Oil on Canvas
36" X 24"

I have also grown quite fond of eyeballs. Well, I have always been fond of eyeballs, but lately I have let myself paint a few. Here's a peek at part of a painting I am working on:

I believe Ibram and some others might have asked about higher resolution images. This weekend, I asked a professional photographer to capture 3 of my paintings, "Achieving Balance", "Unremitting" and "10th Street." Please send me a pm if you are interested in obtaining those larger images for desktop images or something.

Yay fishie girl! I especially love the colors in the upper left corner. The swirls remind me of some kind of kinesthetic visual -- like those old cartoons that played jazz songs and had colorful lines and shapes to portray the music.

Thanks for the compliments! I think I know what you are talking about, Choco. I remember those cartoons.

Wow. So cool.

What does the book say?

Thank you, Labrat. The writing in the book was thought of by my husband. It reads:

From the depth of
My fortress I
Am writing to
Shout in
Solitude of a love
That the sea
Begs me to
Suppress.
I am expressing
Desire that
If known will

Designed to invoke wonder at what the book is all about. I imagine it is someone's diary. Or a letter.
