I say keep her, LJ. You know what happened to the last person that got rejected........ I don't think we could go through that again.

....and jmh99.... the answer to #2 is: nothing.....you've already told her twice.

Oh sh*t, I knew I heard that before, but like they say, the mind is the first thing to go.

I lived in Pittsburgh for 12 years and my x is Philadelphian. So I got an H-1 visa to stay here.

What about a Pennsylvanian test?

1. What crunchies do you get on your ice cream at a real Philly ice cream parlor?

2. Upon what building's steps did Rocky run up during training?

3. What was Boyz-to-Men's first album called?

3. What do you put on a hot steaming preztel?

4. Why can't people from Temple count?

5. When did the Flyers last win the Stanley Cup?

6. What is clearly the world's best sandwich?

7. Is there really city in western Pennsylvania?

Sure, traveling west from Philly you pass through Amishland, then Alabama-North, skirting south of Griftopia to Pittsburgh.

1. What crunchies do you get on your ice cream at a real Philly ice cream parlor?

The only crunchy thing that might possibly get on top of your ice cream is the roaches.

Jimmies aren't crunchy.

2. Upon what building's steps did Rocky run up during training?

The art museum. And yes, I've done it.

3. What was Boyz-to-Men's first album called?

I have absolutely no fuckin' clue. Do youse?

3. What do you put on a hot steaming preztel?

There are no hot steaming pretzels in Philadelphia. Proper soft pretzels are cold and somewhat sticky and have a fine layer of grime, auto exhaust, and vendor urine on them.

Mustard covers that assortment of flavors and is the prefered condiment.

Yellow mustard. None of that funny brown French crap. French's mustard isn't actually french.

4. Why can't people from Temple count?

They are from Temple. No more need be said.

5. When did the Flyers last win the Stanley Cup?

1975

6. What is clearly the world's best sandwich?

The Hoagie.

7. Is there really city in western Pennsylvania?

I've heard rumors, but I hear it's about the size of Norristown and nowhere near as tough.

I haven't been to Philly in a long time. But, this is what I was thinking, correct me if I'm wrong pholks.

1. What crunchies do you get on your ice cream at a real Philly ice cream parlor?

We always got little pretzels with our ice cream. I forgot that they call sprinkles jimmies.

2. Upon what building's steps did Rocky run up during training?

see wolf.

3. What was Boyz-to-Men's first album called?

Damn, I had it on the tip of my tongue, gave up and looked it up: Cooleyhighharmony

3. What do you put on a hot steaming preztel?

mustard

4. Why can't people from Temple count?

my x is from temple; nuff said

5. When did the Flyers last win the Stanley Cup?

The Penguins won two in 1991 and 1992. Nah nah, nah nah nah.

6. What is clearly the world's best sandwich?

Cheese Steak. What the hell are you thinking Wolf? You fell asleep on that one.

7. Is there really city in western Pennsylvania?

Don't be so sure about that. They can be veeeeeeeery picky about what is or is not a cheesesteak. wolf can be particularly strict in her adherence to cheesesteak culture. Proceed with caution.

That is not a common experience, and was likely unique to the establishment you visited.

Your x? Then all she needed to be able to do was count to half.

There were two possible answers to question 6.

Your answer merely indicates that you have never had a hoagie, or at least do not appreciate the importance of this item in Philadelphia Food Culture.

The hoagie is just as unique as the cheesesteak and is absolutely NOT a sub. The Norristown Zep is also not a hoagie, although some elements are shared.

Presidential candidates bring national attention to the cheesesteak because they ritually eat one during the Phila stop of their campaigns. This is because we don't want them finding out about hoagies and deciding to stay. We have enough trouble with our own local politicians. We don't need to import them.
