I used to be depressed because I thought I'd never find love.

Now, I'm just depressed.

It took every fiber of my self control not to click on "Amputee Gallery".

I looked. It is kind of sad. No trashiness, just, tragedy. One young woman in the amputee section is described in part this way: Occupation: Peasant. I don't think it's a joke. There's precious little humor here. Also little titillation. No pictures of the prostheses, crutches, etc. I saw only one picture of a wheelchair, and one of a little kid rolling along on what appeared to be trash can dolly, like you find under the big waste cans in the lunchroom at the middle school.

I think it takes a boatload of guts to seek companionship in such an open and frank manner. This site would have triggered my "bullshit" sensors except for the fact that it seems utterly innocent and sincere.

Frankly, seeing the ladies photos and reading the brief synopses makes me want to know more about them. What happened? How do they feel about themselves?

#12 Yana ... Occupation: Peasant.

I have a male friend who is one of those cautionary tales from childhood.

The one about playing with firecrackers.

Right hand amputation above the wrist.

I have not investigated this personally, but he tells me that there is a fairly large kink community devoted to folks that are missing bits.

i'd think this was a beautiful and touching thing that probably helps people connect despite the misfortunes of their past, if i didn't have such a sick and depraved sense of humor.

umm.......i guess i'm just wondering how fine-tuned the "search" feature on the site is.....can you pick what....never mind.
