Just mention Generation X and you can go for the trifecta!

Bah! Marketers don't care about Generation X anymore. Too damn old.

[Cliff Clavin]The book, Generation X, came out in 1991, and described the lives of recent college graduates. Those graduates would be 37-38 now. That falls outside of the desirable demographic.[/Cliff Clavin]

I also happen to be 37, and the marketers are wise to ignore me. I spend about $5 a week on the stuff marketers care about, and I spend those $5 on brands I am loyal to. No wonder I think everything on TV is crap. They don't want me!

I liked this. It was orderly. It allowed me to start with the newest and work my way down to the oldest.

It seems now to be sorting in some other mysterious order, which is fine for the purposes of the first read through, but when you reload the page, if someone posts to a thread halfway down, it stays halfway down, rather than popping up to the top like a good little new post to grab my attention ...
I hit the "New Posts" link after making or reading a few posts, and it resorts them from newest to oldest.

UT, question:

Is the number of people viewing on the main page. Does that include people viewing the IOTD blog? or just people viewing the actual board?

Just curious . . .

edit: I'm just stoopid

Yes, it does includes the blog view... the blog view actually contains pieces of the rest of the forum software, it's like reading a whole forum without the other bits of information. Right now for example there are about 40 guests and about a third of them are reading the iotd via the blog view.

holy hell!

another cool new thingy: I use email notification to tell me when there is a new post in a thread i'm subscribed to. used to be that it just said" hey there's a new msg, go look" now, it says "hey there's a new message, and HERE IT IS!!" SMILIES AND ALL!

i guess that replying to that email won't get it onto the thread, but what a great click saving feature!
my mouse thanks you, UT

regarding the colors:

can you change the 'previously clicked link' color? it'sa really light periwinkle at the moment, and aside from making me feel gay by saying "periwinkle", they're kind of hard to read. hurry up. do it now. how about purple or crimson?

Slang resists change

I'm going to listen to my 8 track tapes for a while to recover from this massive change.

What next, the sun rising from the west??
