The Iowa thing, combined with rock climbing where there aren't any hills reminds me a lot of the famous "Ski Terre Haute" posters.

Hah.

The highest point in Iowa 1670ft, but the lowest is 480 ft, so the difference is 1190 ft., 12 times taller than that dorm building.

And the Netherlands has you beat with 1053 ft and minus 23 ft.

That said, I've driven across Iowa a dozen times... Damn, that's flat.

I thought the original quote was referring to the average women in those two places.

College kids today are so spoiled. I went back to my old campus a couple years ago, and it actually caused me to stop donating to them. They have it so much better than when I went there.

It is a generational thing. It has happened everywhere.

Kids today have helicopter parents. Anything they want, anything they need, and lots of things they don't. I remember having 35 cents for the pop machine and being all puffed up and proud.

Oh, I sound old.

I just got a letter from my alma mater saying that in these tough economic times, it's more important to donate than ever. They went on to say that similar schools have seen their donations drop this year, but that my school has actually seen an increase. So please give more.

wft? Their basic argument is "we're rolling in cash, so give us more."

Into the recycling bin with that one.

My alma mater is very smart. After you donate, perky college girls call you up and thank you for donating.

Wouldn't it be better if they showed up at your door with a bottle of wine?

Only in daydreams. IRL it would probably upset Mrs. Dar and scare the shit out of me (damned stalkers).
