Incredible pictures show a wolf gnashing its huge teeth at hounds during a hunting contest in Kazakhstan. The chaotic scene sees the predator turned prey as it is chased by at least two dogs near Almaty, in the south east of the country.

The “hunting contest outside Almaty on December 21st” was primarily a contest of Golden Eagles and their human partners.
This must have been a staged feature, a sideshow, as to get these pictures the wolf had to be captured and brought here or
raised in captivity and brought here. The pictures clearly show at least three dogs on this wolf.

Wolf populations are closely protected in Europe, but no legislation is in place in Kazakhstan - where wolf cubs are sometimes bought and used to protect land and property. The country is believed to have the world's largest population of wild wolves of up to 100,000.

I'm sure there are more sizable villages where wolves would not feel safe because wolves will shy away from people and flee unless cornered.
