The cartalk guys give advice.

I'm a cartalk fan. I don't fix my own cars anymore, but these guys are fun to listen to.

The May 29th show was particularly interesting. They had a caller who phoned in for advice in removing difficult bolts.

It turns out the caller was John Grunsfeld and the bolts were on the Hubble telescope.

You can listen free online for the rest of the week here.

Damn. Sorry I missed that one. I, too, am addicted to NPR.

A friend of mine's mom got on the air with them once, and her call ended up being linked on the main page for a long time back in 1998-2000 or so. She was asking their advice on the fact that her son (my friend's brother) wanted to buy an ice cream truck as his first car in high school.

(Sadly, while they agreed there was nothing wrong with the idea and gave her several pointers in picking out a good one, he ultimately didn't get one because it turns out they're pretty damn expensive.)

I love Car Talk and Wait, Wait! Don't Tell Me! Always puts me in a good mood!

Excellent taste, Bri. Wait, Wait is one of my favorite programs in any media. It makes me LOL (loudly) on a regular basis.

I enjoyed the Wait Wait where Leonard Nimoy is asked questions relating to Dr. Spock (not Mr. Spock, Nimoy's Trek character, but Dr. Spock the baby book author)

The call was from the driver, his wife, and his mother-in-law. The women said he had a clutch problem. Klick and Klack called back a year later to learn who was right. Turns out that the women had correctly identified the problem. And now he is divorced.

Tommy is also an expert on getting divorced.
