Audioslave dead...

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/155...dioslave.jhtml

Audioslave officially broke up yesterday (a day after Valentines Day, great timing). Hopefully Rage can get back together after their tour this May. They would have more than enough to write about.

I wish Soundgarden would reunite. Chris Cornell oughta make some calls.

I'm saying this being truly ignorant, but what was the significance of Audioslave? Soundgarden was early (first?) grunge. RATM started all that RapRock shit. What exactly should Audioslave be known for? I honestly don't think I've heard one full song by them nor can I think why I should have. Bah, attribute this to old age :P

fine by me.. two great bands that don't taste great together... (and argueably it was either Mother Love Bone or Green River that started the 'grunge' 'movement') (Speaking of words that ought not go together!).. audioslave should only be remembered for making this generations cheap ass version of the cheap ass song 'we didn't start the fire'...

*nodding in agreement*

I enjoyed thier songs but I wasn't Loving them. This comming from a person who really enjoys a good rock ballad.

I liked Audioslave's first album because it had a lot of variety. It had harder songs and softer songs, which flowed well with eachother.

Completely forgot about Green River / Mother Love Bone. Rarely heard them on the radio (when the originators aren't played is it a sign a movement is pushed?) especially in comparison to Temple Of The Dog.

alrighty, it was a knee-jerk reaction... audioslaves first album was pretty good in spots, I guess I was just very disapointed in chris cornel.

weird thing is that the originators of a movement never get the credit, it;s usually the person/group who comes along and makes it palatable to the mainstream. ie. blues-elvis... oop.. gotta go.. you get what I'm getting at though?
