Weird & cute things your cat does

I have two Siamese boys.

One fetches, and is obsessed with stick toys, and will carry them around the house, even the long ones.

The other one rushes ahead of me and throws himself on his back, showing his belly and being all cute--until I try to pet him, and then he's !attack!cat!

This can be kind of a problem on the staircase.

Oh, we call that last game "Death on the stairs" in our house.

Dizney has a stick thing as well. They destroyed a mouse-on-elastic toy in the first week, and all I have left is the yellow stick. If I drag this across the floor Diz goes absolutely mad for it. I have to listen carefully because he won't stop attacking the stick even when he is panting. His pupils expand so that he is a totally black-eyed cat. Very odd - Dylan just sits there as if to say, "Stick. Right."

Dylan will sleep in my arms with his head on the pillow, which I find almost unbearably cute. I only let the boys in the bedroom on Sunday mornings. I get up early, then come back to bed to read, usually dozing off for another hour or so. Both boys will curl up under the covers, but at some point Dylan creeps up to sleep next to me. If I'm dozy and luxuriating in my lie-in I can sleep quite happily next to him. I couldn't bear it at night though.

My ex has the cats now...I can't have them where I am and he has the house.

When I had my old apartment on the third floor (actually four flights) of a huge old house, my cat Madison used to sit, almost every morning without fail, in front of the front window with the blind pulled down. I think he was watching the bird shadows because there was a big old Maple tree in front. It looked like he was watching a drive-in movie, every morning, for near 2 hours every morning.

He's a big (was 19 lbs) male orange tabby, sweeter than anything and dumber than a box of rocks. He also LOVES car trips.

I miss the guy!

God, I hate cats.

All they care about is food and shelter. If they find a better source for this, they'll desert you without a second thought.

Yet people continue to choose to look after them, and find it cute when they kill birds, attack you, or tear up the house. I really don't understand cat-lovers.

Well, I'm not extremely fond of dogs, but you can start your own cat v. dog thread if that's what you're about

Oh where to start..... I guess by admitting that I am talking about cats! I am really a dog person, but my husband loves cats so that is what we have. They do a variety of nutty things. The youngest - Pagoo is probably the funniest. She fetches, walks on her hind legs, carries stuff around in her mouth constantly (like coins, which is not a good thing). If there is a box or a bag on the floor she will be in it. It doesn't matter if it is a toilet paper package or not.

one of our cats likes to steal paperclips and hoard them in his food bowl... the other is a binge eater.

You have all probably seen this one, but in the unlikely event that you missed out... here is Fat Boy on a bass drum... he has packed on a bit since then... (we no longer have stairs and the diet I put him on failed disastrously)

I like cats because we're so much alike. All we care about is food, a warm place to sleep, and someone to scratch our bellies on occasion. And anything you could do to piss us off will be almost immediately forgotten and forgiven.

Fixed, although I guess it works either way.
