Apr 7, 2011: Chinese gent adopts 140 dogs

Around here, you can't even adopt a dog from a good rescue organization without paying $500 for a fence and $200 in adoption fees. But in Wuhan, China, where they just kill strays outright, Li Zongwen has adopted the pack you see here.

They say he's a former chef, so he knows how to create a cheap meal for these beasts, but the crap output must be legendary, and the begging must be a serious ordeal.

They look nicely cared for. But really, would you trust that he's not slipping the odd one into the pot here and there? Bad Fido, it's the sweet and sour for you!

I think it's hummus.

Those dogs are gourmets.

And how come so many of them look alike? 140 dogs, and not one Golden Retriever or Great Dane or Dachsund?

Listen to Bob: have your pets spayed or neutered. In three weeks he's going to have 954 dogs.

Take a dog in off the street, give it food and shelter and it will not bite you. This is the major difference between a dog and a man.
Paraphrase from M Twain. Big round of snaps for his guy, taking care of dogs like this has got to accumulate major karma points.

My neighbors have one Corgi/Jack Russell. And I want to kill it and maim them.

I'd just kill this guy outright.

ETA: Although they look alarmingly well-behaved in that first pic.

140 of any animal is at least 135 too much.
Unless it's a herd of course.

Bless him for trying, but that's no life for him or the dogs.

I dunno Sundae. Those dogs look happy and healthy and as pack animals by instinct large groups of dogs are often pretty happy pups.

Given that the alternative is no life at all...

Props to the guy: I couldn't do it.

@dogpatch: ullo. What breed/s dog?
