Nov 7, 2010: Guard Liger

Nobody's getting these sweet potatoes, damn it.

Quote:
A liger, the hybrid offspring of a male lion and a tigress, guards a vegetable field while its owners pick sweet potatoes at Wuqiao Acrobatic World in Cangzhou, North China's Hebei province, Oct 27, 2010. Visitors can often be found picking from the field, which was opened by acrobats and employees of the scenic spot. They keep a four-month-old non-aggressive liger to help keep visitors away. [Photo/CFP]

Doesn't look very intimidating now, but I imagine in a few months it will be quite another matter. Now the acrobats and employees, of Wuqiao Acrobatic World, have this bigass garden to feed themselves, I wonder if the Liger has to fend for itself, also?
These things get huge, and most Chinese don't have a lot of meat on them, so that could be a peasant-a-day habit.

Another six months or so and the Liger will be big enough to protect the vegetable field from it's owners, but it will be hungry again an hour later.

That's one that's hand raised as a pet, until it's big enough to bite you in two.

Maybe they're intending to sell it to Sigfried and Roy when it gets some weight on it?
