Baby murder with a cinderblock "Caution"

Quote:
LAKE ARIEL, Pa. - June 14, 2011 (WPVI) -- A Pennsylvania man is accused of fatally striking his newborn with a cinderblock twice because he and his girlfriend couldn't afford a second child.

The parents of the man, Christopher Fitzpatrick, told investigators their son had admitted killing the girl May 28 and burying her near the landscaping business where he worked.

Fitzpatrick, 20, subsequently led state police to the baby's body, telling them he decided to kill the baby because the couple already had a 1-year-old child and couldn't afford another baby, according to police.

A police officer from Franklin Borough, N.J., told The Times-Tribune of Scranton for Tuesday editions that he helped Barrise give birth to the couple's first child last year after she went into labor and couldn't make it to a hospital.

Sgt. Jeffrey Smith told the newspaper the birth was a "little nerve-wracking" but "everything seemed normal."

Fitzpatrick and Barrise were arrested Friday. They are both charged with criminal homicide and concealing the death of a child. Fitzpatrick is also charged with abuse of a corpse. Online court records do not list an attorney for either of them.

Barrise is charged with homicide because, police said, she knew Fitzpatrick was going to kill the infant and did nothing to stop him.

Let's cut more from the education budget and FFS let's not teach sex ed in school. Stoopid is working! NOT!

You can drop a baby off at a safe place, no questions asked.

I watched Slingblade last night ("Some people call it a slingblade, I call it a kaiser blade.") and this horrible story reminded me of some elements in the film.

Fuck.

The effect that money (or the lack thereof) has on some people is disturbing.

I would have gladly taken that child and raised it as my own.

What's the betting he refused to wear a condom as it's not natural.
What's the betting they did not even consider termination as it's evil.

I guess at least there wasn't any torture involved.
I won't go into details - I'm sure you've all read cases.

The truth is, some humans have no humanity.

There's also the relative youth of the parents to consider. The part of the brain that allows us to properly understand the ramifications of our actions (moral context, but deeper and more personalised) along with the more refined impulse control of an adult, usually isn't fully formed until late teens, and in some cases very early 20s.

Not excusing the lad for what he's done. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if he hasn't fully developed that part of his brain yet.

I hope he doesn't get the chance - treat him like he treated his child.

lol - That situation is beyond help by his doing.
Nothing that is done will bring the child back.

Just rid the planet of this waste. Think of the oxygen.

I agree: Find somebody just about seven feet tall, right around three hundred pounds, give that big sumbitch a cinder block, and point him in the direction of Mr. Fitzpatrick.

The town is not rural. It is a commuter town for NYC workers. The girl was 28 - a full adult. This is only a typical murder. Why is it even being discussed other than it appeals to people most attached to their emotions. No hard, constructive, informative, or useful facts have been provided.

Meanwhile, fundamental economic issues affecting everyone in the Cellar go completely undiscussed. But that would not tingle hype.

Another story of two ‘low lifes’. People who refuse to take responsibility for their lives. Something more common from American citizens and rarely seen in immigrants? At least that question has an abiding value. That news report is not worthy of The Cellar.

I didn't know how old the girl was, I only knew the age of the lad.

In what way do fundamental economic questions affecting everyone in the Cellar 'go undiscussed'? That's blatantly untrue.

If you wish to discuss economic questions start a fucking thread about it. There's plenty of room, we're not running out of space. This thread is about the horrible, sordid murder of a child by its parents. Don;t think that's of any interest or believe its not fit for Cellar discussion? Well then fuck off out of the thread and don't participate. What do you do for an encore, snatch the daily rag from commuters and insist they read a broadsheet?

And that is only news to those whose ethics are so low as to think it is even news worthy. Big naked breasts on a Fleet Street rag are equally newsworthy.

Besides, myths were added to the story. They were only kids? It is a rural backwater town? Well tw slept there. Washington also may have. Both are just as newsworthy.

Please. Has the Cellar dropped so low as to give any credence to emotion and gossip? Was she crying? Why don't we know since that too must be important! Show me big tits from Fleet Street. Just as newsworthy.
