I've been here in Baguio since Dec8-18. Just waiting for a phone
call for the next contract back in the US. Could be today, could be 3 months from now. The economy here in the Philippines is slower. People a bit less friendly but not hostile. There are so many cars sold here now that traffic is too much for me to deal with. I walk or take taxis now. Sold my car outright. Driving here is so frustrating. Baguio City gov't did make a change that is helpful. They've made it a requirement that when you register a car, you must prove that you have a space to park it that is not in the street. It doesn't sound like that would be terribly effective here but it's working pretty well so far. All my friends here are perfectly comfortable with just hanging out at home doing...don't know what. My Korean pal came out for a coffee and some stories for a few hours, but that's about it. We have Netflix in the Philippines now. Maybe that's what everyone is doing now. Watching reruns of Star Trek and Friends. |
