I've always found the ones that involve pictures to be easier than random-dot ones like this one. And like Clodfobble I find it easier in print than on a screen.

Got it on the third try - the whole time mad because as Catwomen said, there are no petals and roses. I know I am being lied to and therefore am solving the problem by thinking like a liar. By putting myself in the perspective of a liar, then, I guess, it was easy to solve.

After reading that, I went back to the site and got it immediately. I guess it's all how you approach the problem. I normally look for numerical patterns and I had to throw that out the window.

There are no roses, and no numbers either. Are there are, is dots.

What kind of mind blames the problem for their lack of solution?

I don't know. You should ask someone who blamed the problem. I didn't blame the problem. I blamed my approach to the problem.

Yeah, the one I went to was more mixed gender-wise, but other than that my experience matched yours pretty well.

I bet this could be adapted into a drinking game pretty easily

Ooh, I know! Whenever the number of "petals" is an even number, you have to take a drink!

If you're creative, ANYTHING can be adapted into a drinking game pretty easily!

Everyone claims a die (color code them). If your die is a rose, you have to take a drink.

boy, you two would be drunk in a hurry. Although HP has told me that he can drink most of you under the table, especially tw, who he feels can't hold his liquor.*

I was thinking you'd take turns rolling 5 dice, and the highest number thrown has to drink a shot. Or the lowest number thrower drinks a number of sips of beer corresponding to the highest thrown amount of petals.

* that's a lie. he never once said anything bad about anybody, as far as I know. I was just being dramatic.

Petals around the rose took me about 7 minutes. I had to drop the logical side and go with pure creativity. Hint: The dice are pictures, not dice. I'm calculator stupid; having problems adding up single digit numbers. That's what takes me so long... :p

The magic picyure is of a gingerbread man. if you cross your eyes, he appears. If you defocus your eyes, it looks a bit like two people doing something nasty with foam rubber pipe insulators.
