The trouble with totem animals is that they seem to be far more complex than most white folks realize. My Zuni friend is from the Badger clan, so you'd think his totem would be the badger, right? Wrong! When he did his coming of age ritual, he encountered bears, so the bear is his totem animal, but his affinity is for the lynx.

I think its too easy to get caught up in New Age BS and accidently misunderstand or even disrepect other people's traditions. Its easy to take a quiz on the Internet and decide your totem is a cocker spaniel or something; its quite a different thing to go to a sacred, wild space for 5 days with no weapon, no trail mix, no sleeping bag and encounter a bunch of bears (or whatever).

I know.....Tests like these are only as good as the persons answers and the creator of the test. I think the person who made the test did a pretty good job? I guess.* shrug * It's fun to explore anyway.

When I drank a lot? My totem was the olive. It simply chose me.

Now. Has ANYONE ever heard of or had a House Tomte?

No she isn't an alien. Mar is smart and funny and has a creative mind. If anyone is going to lay claim to the alien thing that has to be me. I am an alien.
I have proof . I have no chin, big eyes, spindly legs yet no upper body to speak of. yep, gotta be true aye?

I had to look that up. I thought a House Tomte was some british drink :P

We call them garden gnomes but they look the same?

Ayway Yes, when my grandmother passed they lived at my moms house awhile then I think I gave ( not sold ) the crusty little things away in a garage sale last summer. I can't tolerate them. I like frogs and dragonflys for the garden instead. Do you? Why do you ask? Do you want a gnome of your own?

This ones not bad but I still don't like them for some reason.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomte

Eagle -- 100%
Dragon -- 100%
Deer -- 83%
Dog -- 83%
Fox -- 83%
Bear -- 75%
Wolf -- 75%
Salmon -- 75%
Crow -- 58% (about right, considering my diet)
Ram -- 50%
Stag -- 42%
Bull -- 42% (waaay low to hear my friends' commentary)
Snake -- 17%
Horse --17%
That was fun. Dragon and Eagle are very flattering but I am humbled by wolf's astute observation about the amount of hot air it takes to get that much ego aloft.

It wouldn't have been as fun without wolf I agree.
