Remember folks, this is just the nomination thread and there will be another thread for voting.

Nominees should accept or reject their nominations by saying something that I can decipher, such as "I accept this nomination" or "I reject this nomination." Just saying "Whoo-hoo!! I'm popular!!", it's not clear whether you are actually accpeting the nomination, or are just happy with life in general.

To get this back on track,

Undertoad, there have been a lot of suggestions about having moderators in different time zones. One in North America, one in Australia, and one in Europe. Do you have any thoughts on this?

This is a good idea, but remember that nocturnal or insomniac moderators can also cover different time zones.

So far the place has done well with one extremely active mod with a fiber connection who refreshes the entire board every 10 minutes and sleeps intermittently.

In the future, it will have to make do with two mods who are less active. So if coverage time is important to you, ask mods about their level of activity and responsibility, and vote accordingly.

I somehow doubt that a response time on moderation that exceeded even 24-48 hours would be a big deal. "Follow the sun" moderation coverage may be overkill.

Is being a moderator at Cellar.org something that would look good on a resume?

I wouldn't put it. The last thing I'd want is a potential employer coming here and trying to figure out "which one of those sickos just applied for a job with us"?

Speak for yourself. I'm going to make creator of cellar.org the centerpiece of my resume.

Better spelling [or typing as the case may be] would probably impress an employer more.

I'd hire you.

Of course, I have no hiring power and no money, but I'd hire you.

My ability to access The Cellar during work varies wildly, but I tend to be online during the remainder of my waking hours (mostly the dark ones) ... unless my schedule gets flipped and then it takes me some time to catch up.

I think I gracefully accepted the nomination already, but that was PAGES earlier in this increasingly lengthy thread.
