Fiberglass fabric, to be more exact.

It's a single layer of fiberglass covering a kayak hull before additional coats of epoxy are put on to smooth the lumps out.

Yep. Made it from plans I got for my birthday a few years ago.

Here's a picture of the finished product, with my daughter thrown in for scale. It's a fun little boat, but I don't paddle it anywhere near as much as I had hoped to. Once or twice a summer.
