Double-click outside the link, and you'll get a description of the building. Also, in the site tagline for the next page, has a passage with "sheepman" in it. There's also an ISBN somewhere, and with proper searching you'll find the book "dance, dance, dance: a novel" by haruki maruyami (or something like that). It's revealed near the end of the book that the sheepman's real name is Kipper May.

For the page with the resort building, I looked at the source and found the next link inside of there.

Breaking Development: Now, if you go back to the CuriosityKilledTheCat page, there's another lightbulb in the bottom right corner. It leads to another page, http://www.thisisnotporn.com/DM/inth...ess/2/toto.htm and has another password (T _ T) titled "Master and Betrayer".
I'm also quite convinced that the next couple of pages will have to do something with the Wizard of Oz... a little while ago, some people went and started entering random page addresses... and they actually got results. They include a page saying "You're wasting your time", "How would you feel if someone picked something off of you", and some strange pictures. Even more strange, those pages have now vanished. Also, there's a new comment in the source of THEY CAN'T ESCAPE THE STORM... //ALL IS DEAD AND GONE WHAT WAS LEFT BY THE WOEBEGONE Last edited by YellowBolt; 06-19-2004 at 01:25 PM. |

This is an interesting game.
I don't think it is gibberish but i'm damned if I know what that lump of stuff is. That comment in the code was there when I went there.

Hmm. Must have missed it then. This game is frying my brain.
EDIT: clicking on the new login page for "the moth flew in the room when I di4d" gives you a link which shapes into "shovel the good snow", which seems to be a reference to opium, which comes from poppy seeds, which in "The Wizard of Oz" the people fall asleep in a bed of. I tried typing in the scientific name for poppy in the boxes, but nope, that doesn't work. Last edited by YellowBolt; 06-19-2004 at 09:11 PM. |

www.thisisnotporn.com (main site)
move your mouse over the oven and click http://www.thisisnotporn.com/not/not.htm click Asia Awaits... and login with Username: Alexander Pass: Gordian *case sensitive* http://www.thisisnotporn.com/see/IJsselmeer.htm the next page after the truck, dont bother solving it, who cares. Has a sign on a tree with some overgrowth. Read the words on the bottom right to login with: Username: Edith Pass: Head You come to a site with some talking, again, who cares, and theres a buliding. Click on the window with two lights in it to arrive here: http://www.thisisnotporn.com/DM/inthedarkness/SM.htm# From here (A moth flew in the room when I di4d) there are four directions, Master and Betrayer, and Cat whatever, Dorothy and Scarecrow (which used to say PHOENIX), and FACE0F, What darkness do we live. Cat whatever is the furthest light, login with: Username: Kipper Pass: May That'll bring you to a road "THEY CAN'T ESCAPE THE STORM." Blah, theres a roll-over on the oncoming car which says, "A life half lived..." and some music that maybe someone will recognize, as well as the number "13" on the bottom right which is very small. Click on the liscence plate of the car to arrive here: http://www.thisisnotporn.com/DM/inth...Perforatum.htm This is the Hide Your Sorrows page. Hypericum Perforatum is St. Johns Wort. And guess what thats used for? Anti depression (see the connection to Hide your Sorrows?). Anyways, theres tons of letters here, but they only go up to "J." That makes 10 letters. In addition, the letters are repeated 10 or so times. Ctrl-a and paste to see this. The arrangement of the colors and the letters makes an image similar to a lighthouse. Upon examining the source I found this: !-- wax -- !-- A one armed skeleton -- !-- I am the answer -- !-- find me -- !-- Not smart by half -- If you click the 2nd to last light on the Light/Moth page, you come to The Master and Betrayer login, use this: username: Xerxes pass: Demaratus This brings you to the DONT STRAY FROM THE PATH page, which so far has the only worthwhile reward to getting this far, a cool picture of a tree with a face. There are some sounds similar to a highway next to a field with crows. There is some text in white which reads: "How would you like it if someone came along and picked something off of you?" Wizard of Oz, ooo wow :P Clicking the left eye opens an apparently empty black page, which if you press ctrl-a on and copy your results you get: HTATDSENETCURDTNRHEOSEOLFH There are random letters here that when arranged say, "SHOVEL UP THAT GOOD SNOW." One can hold the mouse over these areas/letters and get sentences which are pieces of a paragraph that says: "No bed. Narrow and cramped. Piles of books. It wasnt the old hotel either. there was barely enough room to walk. It was the sheepman's room. No lights. Walls and ceiling very, old, round, set with one candle in the middle. What ever became of him? Worm-eatten. Must've slept on the floor directly into the saucer. No bath. Boarded up from inside. Any indication. Wrapped in his sheep costume. No closet." Sheepman is apparently something to note because holding your mouse on a location of the Moth/Light page nets this message: "'Youbettergo' urged the sheepman, stay here or you'll freeze, but if youneedus were here". The right eye takes you to a picture of a hallway with rollover poem on it: "Like one who, on a lonely road, Doth walk in fear and dread And, having once turned round, walks on And turns no more his head, Because he knows a frightful fiend Doth close behind him tread." If you know your poetry this is an excerpt from "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." Move your mouse to the last line and hold it there, a message pops up quite fast saying "You are not of the path." On the top of this page it says Philip K. Dicks fortune cookie which is "Deeds done in secret have a way of being found out." Someone said it was it was really Richard Nixon's fortune. Click on the 3rd from last light, the Dorothy and Scarecrow one and login with: username: Yuki password: Gotanda This brings you to the Robert Silvers page which is a picture of air power windmills from a car window. There are 5 near transparent circles comprised of two arrows. All of them lead to pictures of a fake head of a red haired man. In order from left to right the windows are named: Piggy Piggy We've Got Ventriloquists We Are Connected (this has some relevance to the Moth/Light page) Who Watches the Watchme... a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy From what I can tell these new windows have no leads to other sites. Clicking on the 3rd windmill from the left nets this message in a popup window: unhssrvelette Click on the date that the picture of the windmills was taken on and it brings you to the "1 2" site. There is some really annoying sounds here. It looks to be an electrical station or some sort of node. At the bottom of the page there is the text, "There was nothing I could do. He disappeared." And upon coming here, a popup window comes up with the text: TdAaIeOtFbLhAeTeDaToOsEaRfIiEwTaEa Clicking on any part of this image brings you back to the Robert Silvers page. Something to think about, open ALL the sites with sound, and listen to them all at once, its really freaking wierd. This is all the knowledge I have gathered or uncovered about this site. As far as I know, this site is a work in progress, so it is not meant to be solved yet. So screw the lazy bum that hasnt finished it. Last edited by sixhundred23; 08-09-2004 at 04:07 PM. |

much obliged
I sat in a room forever with refrence books in my library and internet. (internet proving once again more useful).
I would rather learn ninja techniques from sand ninja than work with thisisnotporn anymore. Or eat the finest marmalade with paddington. Last edited by sixhundred23; 08-09-2004 at 05:48 PM. |

Okay, I've got as far as the black page, with all the letters on it, and following Sixhundred23's help I went back to the moth/light bulb page, but I don't know what to do now. The passwords that sixhundred23 gave isn't working, and I definitely typed it in correctly. Any help?

I've spent all day trying to solve this...
I actually read "DANCE DANCE DANCE" so I got the kipper and may part pretty easy... I got the rest part and so far I've gotten up to the jail cell thing all by myself... I do not, however, get the redhead guy... And there's also another link on the moth site. There must be something we're missing... But I've tried decoding the scrambled message with a cipher (A=Z, B=Y...), no such luck. This guy must be either a.) really creative, b.) just got dumb luck... |

Heh
The thing is, when you click on the circles on the Silvers page, you get popup windows, you are probably running a popup blocker or something because I am at the page and I am opening the red headed manequin head right this second.

hi, i'm new.
i did some research on the fake redhead head. the filenames of the images have the name "david hanson" in them; i googled him and found these: http://www.portfolios.com/profile.ht...rl=DavidHanson http://iiae.utdallas.edu/projects/hanson.htm hanson is a sculptor/roboticist. the head is one of his pieces. the first link is a profile of him; click on the first thumbnail, the head is among the pieces there. the second link details the project that the head was involved in; there are seven photos of the head linked at the bottom, five of which we know and love from TINP. beyond this, i've got nothing. also: -could someone explain how we got yuki gotanda? google isn't being good to me. -could someone explain the black letters page? does the shape of the visible letters have any significance? oh, almost forgot. in the sky on the third page, /see/TimeFlows.htm (i know, long time ago) will consistently flash a series of 3 digit alt codes. taking the image into animation shop to freeze the frame, i decoded those alt codes and got this: 1590521471 fourth word add s 0060254920 fifth word 0970042809 last word 0679731725 second word minus s 0894803204 fourth word 0736048146 first word 0785265392 first word 0970917902 eight word 1566912431 third word minus s 0785265392 first word 0345406141 third word 1931615039 Second word, First word minus S 0425120058 fourth word, fifth word 0687371376 fourth word, second word 0967518822 fourth word, first word 0151010196 first word 0471225347 first word, ninth word 0517886901 first word, second word ...verbatim. i probably made an error decoding the numerical portions, knowing me. but, i dont know what to do (or to have done) with this either. Probably old news to most of you, here goes anyway.
Hints about: the sheepman, Kiki, Yuki, Gotanda, Kipper, A one armed skeleton, Shovel that good snow and some more, are from the book "Dance dance dance" It's online here. Here are some decoded hints also referring to "Dance dance dance" DsvivznR! = Where am I ? BAI ADJ AHC BBB BBG BAB BAI ADC AGI AJH BBH BBC BAE BAF BBA = l'Hotel Dauphin W74r43o4s74w08t! = Where does he wait ? Dsvivrhgsvhsvvknzm! = Where's the sheepman ? The following I've taken from another site, regarding the password for: "FACE0F, What darkness do we live" Username: Password: The site this leads to has the following no. in the URL: 1129524974645525182 Go this site: Decimal to Hex, paste the no. and you'll get this for Hex: FACE0FADEADBA80. Maybe this helps you. |
