I am on a board that has avatar bloat. In addition to the avatar under one's username, this board ENCOURAGES (ick) animated avatars. And the siglines are repleat with banners, animated banners, tickers, and all manner of other things likely to make your eyes bleed.

And the board content is at about the same level.

Trust me, gang, you don't know how good you have it here.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with wolf. The addition of the avatars is initially cute at best but after the tenth time you see one, the cuteness factor levels off while the signal to noise ratio continues to decline. Likewise for cluttered sigs.

Oh, and another thing ... the avatar freaks can't pick just one of the damn things and stay with it ... for me they serve as a visual prompt to the poster, but that doesn't work real well when they change the goddamned things every three days, each time to something that is more likely to make my eyes bleed and trigger at least a petit mal seizure.

I have been on boards where the avatars remain fairly stable and I don't mind them, but those are boards for grownups.

Hmmm. Does that mean that the kiddies find it easier to hide here, revealed only by the content of <strike>our</strike> their posts?

I prefer the "fart and lurk" method.

lily was a troll. when she came on board we got hacked into by the Red Devil Crew about 3 X's a day who directed all cellar.org requests to their anti-American site. They said something about Bush and Sharon were something-something (the anti-Christ? Something like that) and we were "all needed to die now". It was extremely annoying. If I'm going to be threatened I want it to be in plain goddamn English!

Not just plain English, but proper English.

So, lemme see if I've got this right. (I've been away for awhile-- want to make sure I've caught up on this)

Lily was a American-bashing troll with a Hello Kitty/Emma Watson of Harry Potter fame fetish?? Have I left anything out?
