I don't know if this qualifies as a product in such limited quantity, or a WTF.

Popeye by Jeff Koons, numbered 3/3(plus 1 proof), mirror polished stainless steel with transparent color coating.
Sort of cool, sort of ugly, he's a big boy at 78" x 51 3/4" x 28 1/2" (198.1 x 131 x 72.4 cm).

I guess Steve Wynn liked it, he paid Sotheby's $28,165,000 (hammer + premium) for it. But people that wealthy sometimes buy things they don't particularly like, just to show they can. He'll probably write it off to one of his casinos.

I've left things in the toilet bowl that were more attractive.

Guess what arrived today. Or should I say, what came....

OK, um... They came late because there was such a sudden spike in orders. Apparently, wolf follows Sulu on Twitter.

Quote:
Greetings,

Thank you for your purchase of the popular OCK/UNT black handled mug. As you may know, this item was recently featured in a tweet sent out by none other than George Takei, the actor that portrayed Sulu in the original Star Trek television show in the 1970s.

Due to the recent acclaim this mug has received, we have had a surge of more than 400 orders in the span of just a few days. To put this in perspective, before this weekend we had a lifetime sales record of just 98 OCKS and UNTS. Though we are working around the clock to ship out as many of these OCK/UNT mugs as we can, we regret to inform you that we may not be able to fulfill our 24 hour ship time guarantee. We are deeply sorry for this and for any inconvenience it may cause you.
I just thought that was funny. 98 OCKS & UNTS. indeed.

That's some clear evidence that advertising is effective. And that social media is about advertising.

Social media, "if you're not paying for it you are not the customer, you are the product that is being sold."

Ladies and Gentlemen of The Cellar:

I present to you the most brilliant idea ever to occur to the mind of man. Just in time for the death of the product it was intended to be used with.

It's a piece of wood with a hole in it. We'll be rich.

What is it he's holding with the little piece of wood? Some kind of old fashioned tablet? My tablet for reading books is flat and has a bright LCD screen. That tablet looks really odd.

Yeah, it's some kind of ancient storage medium. I understand it was very inefficient, and cumbersome.
