In the early '50s Ma Bell was installing these switches so you could dial direct without an operator.
The switches were $2 million each and would handle 20,000 lines, or $100 per line.
At that time they were only charging $4 or $5 a month(plus long distance) but they could get rid of a lot of operators.
I'd play it on double speed.

My first friend that got a car got a '41 Ford. I think I saw his engine block in that vid.
It is an amazing piece and makes me very grateful I didn't have to spend 40 years popping pistons out of hot molds.
