The SSS that works is the one with deet.
DEET is evil. I once put on Maxi-Deet when I worked in the States, then attempted to write with a Bic pen. The pen melted. (& I still got bitten). Marmite has masses of Vitamin B. Slap that on your toast. It does little for Midges but they think it tastes nice & is low fat.

Oddly, mosquitos do not bite me. They land on me, but they don't like the way I taste, apparently. Someone once told me that it could be because of my Native American blood...
Same thing happens to me Smurf, they buzz right over me and bite the shit out of my husband

oddly, I hear that a diet rich in garlic (tablet form will work) does the trick on skeeters. I could test this as I'm in Lakeland, near Orlando right now but I'm lazy.

I had a neighbor who gave her dog garlic daily and it never had a flea despite a bad infestation in the area. My vet tells me that garlic is toxic in dogs but hers never seemed affected.

DEET the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

We eat more garlic in one meal than the whole of France does in a year, but still get badly bitten unless we use the evil DEET

If you're having your garlic cooked it doesn't have the same medicinal properties.

Have it raw and see how that works for you.
