There's a local trad jazz band that I'll prolly tag along with ... Sousa wrote some great bass lines for his marches but this instrument is not allowed in the brass band line up so the Sousa'll have to wait!
And next August I'm going to play a duet ("Land of the lonesome pine" with another sousaphone player - only he doesn't know it yet!

It's pitched in Eb but with practice, in theory, the valves'll take it down to an A. That'd be the lowest A on the piano.

Oh and it makes a LOVELY sound! Good, rich and velvety!

Realistically I'll only ever make it to the Eb above that, and that'd just be for special occasions!
