I too questioned this and was told "We have many, many past lives but we only remember the interesting ones". How could I argue with such wonderful logic.

I wonder how they'd react to the bleak reality that the life they're living now is pretty forgettable compared to the ones they describe. Makes this time around pretty damn pointless, doesn't it?

Well, I didn't mean that quite as it sounded, My point is that I think some people are trying to justify their "boring" lives by imagining that they've lived glorious ones before. But that's escapism. Every life is valuable, and interesting. The value of one's life isn't measured by it's proximity to memorable events or influential people. I say carpe diem! La la la la la la Live for Today!

Besides, too many times people have related past lives which would have been dreadfully boring to live, and would only be interesting now as a historical curiosty. "I helped build the pyramids" and such nonsense. Well, speak some Egyption then... you claim that you did it every day for fifty-odd years, you should remember a word or two. No? Hmm. You remember that the slave-master had a unibrow and smelt of ricotta cheese, but you can't remember the Egyptian word for "Hello." Do you remember the Egyptian word for "Bullshit?"

I'm not saying that reincarnation is necessarily bullshit, only that some peoples' claims to past-life memories seem to be poorly-spun bullshit. Some claims may be legit, I can't know.

This is one heck of a lot better than that reincarnation quiz that told me I was a Canadian in a previous life ...

Now, HP, you should understand that the reason people can't recall the Egyptian words for "crock of shit" is that they didn't think of themselves as speaking Egyptian in that particular time/space ... the thought forms of the concepts are the same, and are expressed metalingually rather than purely linguistically.

I decided to go ahead and see what I was in my past THREE lives, and here's what I got....hahahahaha.....(the second one's pretty close to home, though...I've always been able to sketch and draw well...)

As for the other two...

Lady Sidhe was
a Well-Behaved Psychic
in a past life.

Lady Sidhe was
a Popular Artist
in a past life.

Lady Sidhe was
an Important Pick-Pocket
in a past life.
