     No, I mean it. Often when I make observations people claim I'm just trying to be cynical. Really, I'm not. It's just their way of illegitimizing my claims without addressing them. Screw this unmentionable shtuff. Tell it like it is.

I'm a firm believer that familiarity breeds contempt.

I think familiarity breeds boredom would be more accurate. While there is certain comfort in not having to worry about what your partner might do next, it also diminishes the anticipation of their arrival. Same is true for sexual encounters. Creative variation adds the "getting there is half the fun" to orgasms as well as road trips. "Variety is the spice of life" rings true but if you provide it, the postal person or administrative assistant won't have to.
