Oh I promise, drinking straight apple cider vinegar is worse than barium. Try it out sometime. Vinegar burns (and would do it quite literally, if you were able to just hold it in your mouth for any period of time.)

My FiL was pushing vinegar for a while. I didn't get the point... I remember my forehead sweating and I believe there is alcohol in it so as Bush 1 would say "Nah gah dah."
As this has become the "kook" food thread we're now in possession of kefir culture which we hope to turn into awesome goaty hippie food ASAP.

Kefir is great hippy food.
Vinegar doesn't have alcohol in it, it is the result of acetobacter converting alcohol into acetic acid.

Yeah, it gives "getting pickled" a new meaning.

I would guess because of the acidic vinegar, the stomach doesn't produce enough acid to fully digest the food.

Come on, you guys. It's a couple tablespoons cider vinegar in a glass of water, sweetened with honey or other sweetener to yield a sweet'n'sour beverage. So, at any rate, sayeth Bragg Live Foods.

I've been thinking about this for awhile and I am going to do it.
No, not eat 11 cookies. I could do that without thinking. Well in a manner of days anyway. I want to do the cider/honey tonic. My stomach has been so messed up and it can't be worse than tinny antacids which don't do much anyway. I am going to make my mom drink it too. heh heh. j/k she wants to. |

Make sure you get a good-quality apple cider vinegar. It will make all the difference. The best brand is Bragg's--it should be easy to spot because it has the ugliest yellow label you've ever seen.

Maybe I shouldn't have just eaten 4 (yes four) pieces of grilled cheese on toast, when I'm supposed to be on a low cholesterol, low fat diet and I haven't worked out today -unless you count up and down the basement stairs to do the laundry....
(but it's all the Cellar's fault, talking about grilled cheese when I was hungry...)

Um, Clod's right about the label. Though frightfully old-school, at least it isn't as Commie-dreary as a Stolichnaya label.
Aw Monst, put peanut butter and relish in them too. More filling, veggie oils, bit of fiber, that sort of thing.
