Er, Flint, this is a little awkward, but someone has to say it... "your" son doesn't look a whole lot like you. I mean, the ears are right, but your fur is definitely blonder than that.

Congratulations!

If you don't post a real picture of a real baby soon I'm gonna post my niece and nephew.

Congrats!

8lb, 18.5" ... Flint Jr. (of course) ...

We're home now. Our plan was a VBAC ... ended up with another C-Section. Now we have a Mama that's been cut in half and a very energetic little monkey at home that's just over a year old. Yikes!

The new one is actually the easy part; he's a dream. His favorite thing is sleeping. How very different from our first. Her favorite thing was constantly screeching (until we figured out the acid reflux thing).

The short story is that our baby shower (with drum circle) ended around 6pm and our water broke at midnight that night. Mama's "Fort Knox" cervix refused to progress over the next day, and they had to go in. Had the tubes tied while they had her open.

Highlights were that we actually have been sleeping pretty decently, we had someone here to watch monkey #1, and every body is safe and healthy. And we're home. And we have some help around the house, primarily with entertaining monkey #1.

Lowlights were that I had to leave (briefly) the day after to go take a final exam. And they kept calling me with problems from work. And that's not so bad, really, that they can't get anything done without me. But, seriously, give me a break for once.

So, Mama and monkeys are night-night, and Papa is in here refurbishing an old laptop before the semester officially ends and MSDNAA dries up.

Thanks for paticipating in my "ultimate cliffhanger" thread. I won't have a chance to do that again, so I had to drop a quick post on The Cellar to keep y'all on the edge of your seats!

good for all of you Flint. I'm pleased it's turned out so well. I guess you'll be taking time off work to help out till the wound heals over or will there be someone else to help?

I've never had a C section, but I hear they can be pretty painful for a while.

you have little kiddos? I'm kinda surprised. You seem like such a curmudgeon here.

Congratulations, though, truly. The day your child is born is a Very Good Day.

Curmudgeonliness and fatherhood are not incompatible. (I'm living proof.)

Yeah, don't let Flint fool you. He's an extremely loving and doting daddy! It just shines right through.

Congrats Flint & Pooka and both Flintlings.
I must say I was delighted when I saw Pooka had a kitten... but I suppose you prefer a son anyway (odd as it sounds to me)

Do get some pics up young man. Even I'm not immune to the offspring threads. Especially the ginger ones.
