maybe you could get your digital camera out and actually take a picture of your monitor?

Try holding the Alt key, than tap PrintScreen. Then, as Jimbo suggested, open any graphics app and Go to Edit > Paste. Crop, Save, viola.

This is all assuming you are using Windows, of course. If it doesn't work, you probably have a faulty PrintScreen key or something.
