I suppose I should reveal the true purpose of this thread at this point, now that it has reached the third page (default settings).

This was created to test for Tards™. those of you that responded are, in fact, tards. myself included. I wanted to make up the most pedantic and useless topic i could think of, and astrology came bubbling up from the depths. Looks like Hubris Boy was right, after all.

Those of you that thougt this was a stupid thread, and not worth responding to, you must be Giants. congratulations. there will be a little gold star appearing next to your name in the next 24 hours so that everyone knows it.

So he was right. Now, moving on to more important things...like Astrology...

I'm not sure if it was directed towards me, but I'm not a lion or a bull. We are now down to 10.

Actually, the joke's on you, LJ. This thread just goes to show how the highly intelligent and witty people who hang out in the cellar can take even one of YOUR topics and have fun with it I guess CyberWolf is a Capricorn.

On the subject of the silliness of astrology, a woman I worked with once tried to convince me that it had a scientific basis because, just as a woman's body goes through monthly cycles, she claimed it also goes through subtle yearly hormonal cycles as well, and these affect a developing fetus enough that the time of year you're born DOES have something to do with your personality. She acknowledged that the stars part of it was crap, but held fast to her hormonal cycle theory.

That's theoretically possible, but possibly less likely in the era of furnaces, air conditioners, and bulk transportation of food. But the real trick in testing the hypothesis would be in creating meaningful tests for personality traits.

Ah, yes. I remember the days when a good pick-up line was "What's your sign?"
A girl I worked with once asked me "What sign were you born under?"
"It said 'Sic Gorgiamus Allos Subjigatus Nunc'™"
(We Gladly Feast On Those Who Would Subdue Us)
