HLJ: Must you have the Fenix or other brands with similiar specs are fine with you? I can have a look around and make suggestions for you.
Btw, I just read the review on the P3D from the your link. There's a low/medium/high/SOS setting in the general mode. So, what kind of dimmer and dimmest setting are you talking about?

I also have a Surefire, but that only has one setting (it's a G2, I think), and it's very bright. I have a Glo-toob FX in amber, and that has a lot of settings, but it's better as a lantern than as a flashlight. ![]() I know, I'm picky. |

I believe the flashlight beest needs to use for work cost a little more than that.... but it was all made worthwhile when his superior beam impressed the state trooper who arrived to investigate the car crash we found....

Came in very handy when fixing the polisher, so justified ![]() I don't source from the lowest cost, just what the supplier has. Doesn't have adjustable light levels and modes like those fenix's, or come with a holster very jealous. Would be very handy as it is too bright to read by.

Tulip, you need to change your User Title to Secret Flashlight Nerd.

Hehe...HLJ: If you like the Fenix P3D, you may want to check out the Quark 123 Tactical. It has similar specs and price range as your old Fenix. It has two programmable primary and secondary outputs with the maximum being 206 lumens and minimum being 0.2 lumens. Three flash modes are availbable: strobe, SOS, and beacon. Clip or no clip options are also available. Not spamming, but here's a site with detailed specs: http://www.4sevens.com/product_info....oducts_id=1653 You may search for another place to buy this light if you're interested in this light; however, that's the actual place where I bought mine. I got the limited Ti Quark AA2 Tactical when it came out. Decent people with great service and decent pricing. If you're interested in ordering from this site, let me know and I'll pm you the way to get 5% off. ![]() My EDC is actually a modified L4, and I often reach for Mr. Bulk's Lion Cub, which is also modified. ![]() Beest: Streamlights are nice too. ![]() Speaking of Streamlight, I wonder how Big Sarge liked his MicroStream. Tulip, I'm assuming that you've used your L4 to smack someone in the forehead.
I like that moonlight mode. I'm going to have to put that Quark on my wish-list. Thanks for the input. |

Why are you so into flashlights, Tulip? What do you use them for?

Btw, I was wondering how you could use the P3D to smack someone on the head. It's so short and the head is smooth. Not very ideal.Quote:
To give you the most candid answer, I use it to shine on the ground when I walk at night so I won't step on any living things. An answer I only offer to close friends because others can't understand. But I trust you guys. Another honest reply would be that I think some, if not many, flashlights are so darn pretty. Especially those with bright lights are even more attractive, hehe. And no, I'm not a LEO (Law Enforcement Officer).
