I find it unusual that you don't know any men who would kill under these circumstances, given that you live, not just in the South, but in Louisiana.

True, in the kinder, gentler South a lot of that stuff stays below the surface and doesn't get spoken. Unless all she knows are transplanted Yankees, in which case a lot of that stuff stays below the surface and doesn't get spoken.

I tracked down the following info.

Convictions:
Michael Magidson, 25, and Jose Merel, 26, were convicted of second-degree murder in Araujo's killing and were sentenced in January 2006 to 15 years to life in prison. Jason Cazares, 26, who struck a deal with prosecutors last month by pleading no contest to a lesser charge, received a six-year sentence. A fourth defendant, Jaron Nabors, 22, who testified against the others, is expected to be sentenced on May 22 to 11 years in prison.
