The [ URL= was working at another bb, and I don't use this stuff outside of one, so I was curious.

I've got another question... Any suggestions for cheap webhosting where I can post videos, like .wmv files?

Yes please!!!!!!!!!! avatars.....from the other board I am on everyone says you have to host the avatar then put in the URL? (what the hell is that?) to get it to come up...I do and all I get is a rectangle witha red X......(still trying to put the pictures up

okay HELP, okay say I want a picture from the Eye of Science web site (the velcro picture to be specific) what EXACTLY do I type in so I don't get the annoying red X???

I was not pushing or suggesting avatars for the cellar. I like the cellar the way it is, it is a fun interesting place to come to. I was just asking a general question on how to use them for other forums....chill

It's an address on the internets that "points" to your picture, or document.

Ask somebody on the board what the SIZE of the avatar has to be. Some of them have limits on size. If they do, you'll have to reduce the size to meet the limits.

Then just put the URL of the image, and you're there.

I got a couple more questions:

- My comcast account has my name on it. If I host images there, won't my name appear in the image url? (I want it to be anonymous).

- How do you generate characters with accents, umlauts, tildes?
