Actually, the trash is usually under the art. Bums love to sit and collect change on the steps near the Clothespin.

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.

Wolf, are you inferring that bums can often be works of art?

Performance art, perhaps?

I was actually referring to the art/trash juxtaposition.

Bums 'r bums.

While I know there are exceptions, I sometimes wonder about the artistic merit of things which are heavy and welded, particularly if they are rusty.

A bunch of this crap has appeared on the campus at West Chester University. A lot of it seems merely to spoil the view of some architecturally interesting buildings. (or make it difficult to walk across what had formerly been perfectly good open space in the quad). About the only one that I thought was at all useful was the one in front of the art building that could be pressed into service as a bench.

Thats the kind if stuff in Bing. Nice I beam, did it fall there during construction? Another is a cone which sits point up with its construction layers exposed at the top. I guess its supposed to look unfinished, unfortunately the last time I looked at the thing it was surrounded with barriers because the concrete paving around it was all broken up. Bad art surrounded by incompetent public works... pretty much reflects the mayors office up there.

Guys a couple years behind me whipped out some of that I beam stuff at my high school. It still sits there near the entrance. The guys who did it laugh and laugh.
