2014? Other stupidity. In the last seven years I have witnessed at least seven announcements all over the press over a new and very dangerous asteroid coming near our planet every year. I think that at every turn of the century there starts an entire histery about some kind of the end of the world. So.... when I hear about the "new" asteroid........

It's an important thing to watch for these planet killers. Once again, I blame the media. A researcher discovers and quietly announces an asteroid has a 1 in 700,000 chance of hitting the earth, and the media goes ape shit wild. More death! More destruction! Checking facts? That's be no fun!

It seems astronomers are saying they've never discovered an asteroid that was above 1 on the Torino Scale.
