I hate dogs. Even more, I hate dog owners who don't get it that not everyone wants to be humped and slobbered on by their stupid pet. Keep that shit away from me.

*MY* dog does not hump legs nor does he slobber. He doesn't even like to jump on people (much). He shows affection (and begs to go out) by hugging you and sitting on your lap and staring at you with a pleading expression on his furry little face.

I leave it to my houseguests whether they prefer to have the dogs free or crated, but the amazing humping techniques they display for company are always good reason to leave them out and more than make up for any other inappropriateness.

Doesn't Junior weigh close to 100 pounds?

(I have a friend whose Rottweiler doesn't know he isn't a dachshund like his canine sibling, and loves to sit in laps. It's a little off-putting when you aren't expecting it. And he's a very aggressive facelicker. The dog, not the friend.)

Wow, I'm surprised by some of the comments here.

Anyone that would get bent out of shape by our dogs or cats being around them wouldn't be welcome in the first place...I sure as hell wouldn't put them in a crate for anyone. Sure they can be smelly and annoying but their my buddies.

No. He's forty if he's an ounce. and that's all he'll get.

Yeah they're my pals, and the only reason I'm repeating myself is cuz I wanted everyone to know I learned how to use "they're".

I hope this isn't true....irrationally this has been bugging me all day.

A little background.....I grew up in a family of hunters, and in fact killed a few squirrels, deer, bear, fish, bobcat, racoons & birds myself.

But my love of animals is so much so that I get ill when I smuck one with my car, I worry about my pets when I am at work. I cried like a little girl when my last pal (a rangy cat who adopted us) I had to have put to sleep.

Dogs to me really are mans best friend, the unconditional love, the sheer joy when you get home, total adoration when you do something simple like giving them a treat or taking them for a walk.

So I really hope you don't truly hate dogs? Don't your kids have any pets? Kids need pets like pets need kids.

Speaking of the Vet, I was watching the news tonight, and one of the residents in the shadow of the Vet was actually concerned about a possible rat infestation. Apparently, he had to call the city to remove some found in the neighborhood last week.

Blecch! :p
