Put my dad in the hospital yesterday morning with what they thought was a severe angina attack but because of his heart history, the doctors put him in ICU until the heart specialist could look at him. I worked 12 hours last night after being up all day yesterday and thought I was gonna come home a catch a few zzzzz's. However, just found out that the heart surgeon said it WAS a heart attack and is prepping him for a heart cath this morning. Dad didn't want to worry anyone so he only called my mom who for some reason thought I would choose to sleep over being at the hospital with my dad!! PARENTS!!! GOTTA LOVE EM, CAUSE IT AIN'T LEGAL TO KILL EM!!

Anyway, I'm rushing back to the hospital to be there at least when the doctors comes out to tell me what he has found. I am a little nervous about the outcome considering that dad has already had 3 heart by pass surgeries and after the last one, the doctors said no more could be performed, so I can only wonder what can be done now.

Thanks, Pete, thank goodness for free wifi at the hospital cause at least I can occupy my mind with my laptop rather than worrying about what is going on down the hall from me. I got here in time to spend a few minutes with my dad and he was so pitiful! His arms looked like a herion attack. They had to stick him so many times and finally just gave up because the pain and trauma was making his heart race and they were afraid they were fixing to drive him into another heart attack!

It is so hard to watch him suffer! I do understand what a parent feels like watching as their children go through procedures that are out of their control. I really realized this morning how much my parents have become my children!

Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband who understands about my dedication and loyalty to my parents.

On another note, even though my dad said he didn't want to bother anyone, he was very glad to see me come through the door. He has always been a good friend to me as well as my dad and I know that if I ever needed anyone, he would crawl to hell to get to me if he had too!

News not good. Nothing more they can do except try to keep him comfortable. His heart is only functioning at 30% and he only has 1 little vein or valve open and the rest is either totally blocked or full of blood clots. They are trying him on some meds to try and break up some of the clots however, that can also have a negative effect. If they don't break up the clots, he is going to die, if they do break up the clots, he could throw one into his lungs and he will die. So...we are fucked either way!

Thanks cellar friends for letting me vent and moan!

Oh juju I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you - how awful for you, and your family. Make sure you get good hugs from the Cap'n!

So sorry to hear this Juju.
I know it's no comfort, but at least you are able to say your goodbyes and tell him how much you love him.

It is a privilege to even KNOW Juju. It is indescribable to be married to her. What a woman! She needs rest, tho... y'all tell her that. She doesn't seem to listen to me.

Juju - don't forget that you need to rest, too. You must look after yourself in order to be there when you're needed.
