True enough. To be honest I find some of the rap videos more disturbing than many R-rated movies. Some very dubious images of women.

Yeah,
there's nothing wrong with a couple seconds of jiggling boobies, and I'd be fine with my kids seeing that, but the jiggling boobies often go in movies that have some objectionable material, like violence, or drug use, or swearing, etc.

The thing is... no matter how actualized and well adjusted you think your kid is... or how little of the movie you think he'll understand... at some subconscious level they will be affected. Ratings exist for a reason.

Now I'm not saying a 15 year old child might not be mature enough to handle it, but a 3 year old... however you spin it... isn't.

And I'm with Flint on this... (well... obviously) there is a huge difference between some adult sexual interactions and gratuitous violence.

I also think it depends on the brand of violence. Some movies have a kind of unreal cartoon style violence. That's probably more graphic but less disturbing than, say, an epsiode of Dexter. The more real the violence the more disturbing it is likely to be, I think.

I'm looking forward to it... this is the first movie I've seen with out Flint or the kids since... well... since I met Flint.
