There was a lot of publicity about this movie - having Johnny Depp and all. I'm surprised that anyone who was interested in it would not have heard that it's a musical. I haven't seen it, but even the trailer had Depp singing. See http://www.apple.com/trailers

If you have that much extra cash, send some my way. I'm sure that, over the years, my humble postings have provided way more entertainment than some lame DVDs.

Sweeney Todd, the original musical, is a landmark masterpiece. It'll be interesting to see how the movie looks. (I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.)

I'll have to come up with a list of DVDs you ought to watch that will provoke a similar reaction!

It's been a broadway musical since 1979, though.

Oh send it to Steve, I want the opinion of someone who is more familiar with the original than I was.

I knew the original vaguely, a couple of the songs. But I'm huuuuugely biased because it's Tim Burton, Johnny Depp (who had the best male British accent I know of) Helen Bonham-Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall etc etc.

Oh and a child actor who can act. What was George Lucas on? Sorry, I'll never get over The Phantom Menace and the amazing wooden child.

Anyway - soundtrack with lyrics and a few stills.
The Worst Pies in London.

She thinks you're a homophobe because of the way you always close your eyes when we make love.

She thinks you're a homophobe because of that t-shirt you wear that reads I'm A Homophobe.
