not talking about descent, 'tho I was thinking about it when this topic occurred to me (Scots-Irish here). Just--seems odd. I don't think I've ever encountered anyone from Ireland on a forum, but I have from New Zealand.

Another thing I've noticed - and others have certainly mentioned over the years - we are an almost exclusively white forum. Only three exceptions I know of among regular posters and a few more mixed heritage and most of those not in the previous generation.
Why is that? Do we exclusively talk about stuff white people like (breakfast, wine, living by water). It's odd. A group of white people round the world found the same site, yet no black, Asian or hispanic people did.
