Best of luck to you!
I think the key to a great marriage is that each person needs to want to make their mate happy. If you don't want your mate to be happy... then are you right for each other? Each and every day I want to bring a smile to my husbands face, to see the twinkle in his eyes. And he wants to make me happy. To make him happy... I don't need to buy him a new set of golf clubs every day, or anything like that. Its getting him a coke before he asks - because I already know he wants one. Its flipping to UFC after he's had a long day and just wants to not think for a while. Its surprising him with a card and a new picture of our son to take to work. Its finding a sale on fishing equipment for him. And he does the same for me, with the things he knows will bring a smile on my face. Doing the dishes without me asking him to... flipping to a history program when he knows thats what I want to watch... cleaning my car, just because. Nothing makes my heart smile like seeing him smile.

I have the five love languages. Someone gave it to us as a wedding present but I'd already heard about the book prior to that.

I haven't read it yet, but from all accounts it's worth the read.

I read it and enjoyed it. Books like that are full of information you know but don't really think about until it is put in front of you in someone else's words.

The department of Health says that living in unsanitary conditions is bad. I wonder if I can get them to clean my house and wipe my rear for me?

They won't help protect the sanstity of marriage, but there's a brown noser in the department health and human ass-wiping that can help with your particular problem.

It seems to me that there are always plenty of community resources--EXCEPT for whatever your particular need is.

I used to see these window stickers on cars all over the place ... don't know if they're any good, though.

my parents and some friends did that M.E. thing years and years ago. I remember they all said good things about it, and they are all still married. Of course, I don't think any of those couples were on the verge of divorce before they went either.
