I finally got to see the lake for the first time in many years. Wow, is it low!
![]() That's feet Above Sea Level at the dam. ![]() You can now walk to within the restricted area. The rusted metal pole is probably part of an old fence that used to run along the river before they flooded the area. ![]() This bridge really isn't needed, today. Deer tracks showed that animals are now crossing where they hadn't been able to in decades. ![]() Gauge on the bridge. ![]() Low water levels mean all the trash accumulated over the decades is becoming visible, again. My dad said they managed to clean up two of the sunken boats that appeared, along with several cars, many tires, and even a porcelain sink. Soda and beer cans can be found all over the lake bed, many of them fairly old -- I found a lot with "pop tops" and even a can of "New Coke". I've never heard of Treasury Root Beer. |

That's a sad state of affairs. So sad to see our rivers and lakes run dry every year.

It's obviously very bad that there is such a severe drought, and the lake is so low, but I have to admit I think this set of pictures is really interesting and very cool. Getting to see all this stuff that is normally covered by water is remarkable. Makes me wonder what's in the lake where my family has a cottage. I know I've lost a few things down there. There should be an anchor and a diving mask and a golf club, that I know of. . .

I seem to recall that Treasury was a house brand of a drug store chain such as Rite Aid or Thrift Drugs.
