A band largely rides on its music. Sure, the individual performers are important, even critical to some, but would anyone go see Inrecess unless they expected to hear INXS' music?

I offer as an example to this the recent phenomenon of The New Cars. There's only two original members, neither of them is Ric Ocasik, but they've got Todd freaking Rundgren as frontman, and they flat kick ass. If you liked The Cars, you are likely to enjoy The New Cars. Of course, they managed to come up with a "new" name, one that was reminiscent of the old name and had a sort of built in pun value, but nevertheless...it works.
