I always come down and find myself having to pick up a bunch of trash at the bottom of the hill.

Anyone with iTunes and a few bucks NEEDS to get the Alice's Restaurant Multi-Colored Rainbow Roach Affair. It's every bit as good as the original Alice's Restaurant, if not better. I mean come on, Lyndon Johnson chomping down on a 4 foot by 5 foot joint is just a LOT funnier than trash down a hill.

Excuse me? I sure as hell do. I was trying to sell the idea of shelling out... I think about five bucks for a single song. The actual dumping-of-trash-down-the-hill is, you have to admit, not the finest moment of the song.

Has anyone ever seen the movie Alice's Restaurant?

A wonderful, wonderful 18-and-a-half minute monologue/song by Arlo Guthrie. One of the best anti-draft songs I can think of, and one of the funniest songs period.

Man, I thought EVERYONE over the age of, like, twenty has heard Alice's Restaurant.

It wasn't supposed to be, but it is key to setting up the preposterous situation.
Actually the whole song was not meant to be funny, ha ha, but a funny, ironically sad, commentary on the system and people doing their job like robots without reason or thought.

I've heard of Arlo Githrie. I didn't know he was so cute. I did read the lyrics of Alices Restaurant. It is a sad commentary. Thoughtful.
