Oh, I forgot...
The reason I was having trouble was that I made the vba module, but when I tried to go back into the file, or another file, there were two problems. First, I hadn't saved the module as an ??? .xla add-in. Then, when I did save it, I re-entered the file and didn't have the security certificate to run the macro (?) without setting the security level to low. So (against my better judgement) low it was. Voila! Now I know. (kinda)

On a different subject, would you suggest vi or jEdit for my first Unix/Linux based editor? I have to learn one to do part of my new job. vi looks pretty creaky (reminds me of edlin). Your suggestions are welcome. Open source/free has preference.

Well, jEdit is Java-based, runs on Linux or Windows as long as GUI is available. (and Java, of course). It has a *lot* of fairly cool plugins if you're doing develoment work, understands bazillions of formats and syntaxes, integrates well with Ant and Beanshell. Since it's menu driven and has an extensive help system, I think it's easy to learn.
vi is available preinstalled on most Linux distros, and is fairly ubiquitous on Unix too. The one good thing about it is it will run in a character-based session like ssh or telnet, so it's used a lot to maintain server configuration files. I use vi when I have to, and jEdit when I don't. Both are free and open-source.
