(ahem)---I think human sacrifice, meant to assuage the gods, is highly ineffective. Neither virgin or king ever met with approval. I suggest reverting to groveling and adject terror--oh, wait! We're already doing that!

I suggest cursing and railing at the gods in vain. It is, as the 'in vain' suggests, not likely to accomplish anything. But it's easier on the virgins and less harmful to one's self respect than groveling and begging.

(Sacrificing kings isn't such a bad idea but they tend to resist more effectively than the virgins)

Shall one curse with fist shaking at the sky? Or shall one rail with the gnashing of the teeth? Possibly, if one were really pissed, both?

Say I had a bad crop--would I shake my fist or gnash my teeth or BOTH?

If you have a bad crop, apply for government aid and shake your fist at the politicians in the nearest free speech zone.

Gnah. Gno gnashing gnecessary.

Just declare yourself a small, third world country. Apply for US Gov't Aid. Join the UN. Deplore US actions every chance you get.

It's a cottage industry and entertainment for most of the third world.

Well what a surprise, Wolf likes Ayn Rand.

"Does your position as a taker rather than a producer color your understanding of/reaction to Rand? "

You go out of your way to be nasty or does it just come naturally? It worries me that you are in a position of power over vulnerable and damaged people.

Those vulnerable and damaged people might actually have an excuse for their behavior.

I am uncertain as to your meaning here. Do you mean they might be excused if they went after Wolf in one of her bitchy moods?

No, I meant that the people she deals with are entirely likely to have a diagnosed/diagnosable problem with some sort of brain pathology that makes them behave or think the way they do. As opposed to people who she thinks are simply guilty of being stupid.

I didn't attribute any. I was merely clarifying something that I thought needed clearing up.

I've worked with MD and MI people. One of my mantras, when they were hanging from the ceilings and such, was, "At least these guys have an excuse."

Why do she have power over you?

Why? Because I am officially stupid (at least in some areas)?
