If someone'll tell me how to take a screenshot, I'll do it...

Mine at work...
I run Drempels which is like an acid-trip on your desktop (its an animated wallpaper). But, for some reason, Drempels will not show up on a screen shot so I disabled it to show my underlying wallpaper - the Sombrero Galaxy. Also, I disabled icons on the desktop and use the tool tray next to the start button to keep the handy stuff.

ok, but don't say i didn't warn you. you know i love you like a brother, even though we've never met in person.
that said..... I have heard numerous times from numerous sources ( although i spent the last 5 minutes searching google and found nothing to substantiate this) that gay people are less likely to be able to whistle. I think I heard it on Leno first. There was something about being able to roll your tongue into a tube, and flip it over, too. probalably bullshit, perth, but with the ambidextrousness, and the left side task bar.......? *tasteless joke about a touchy subject omitted out of respect

* In your windows machine you will need to install IrfanView. Install both IrfanView and Plugins.
* Then login to solaris environment. At the command prompt, type snapshot * This will start snapshot program in a new window, which will keep blinking (Really annoying. Who the hell designed it?) * Click on the tab snap in the snapshot program window. * Click on the window you want to capture (e.g. the Virtuoso Schematic Editor Window with your schematic inside) * Click the button save and select the directory where you want to save the image. (Default name of the image is snapshot.rs) * Now ftp this image-file to your windows machine. * Rename the file with extension .ras (i.e call the file schematic.ras or something) * Open this file in IrfanView. You should be able to view this image. (If not, then probably you forgot to install the plugin package of IrfanView) * Save this file as a bitmap. File -> Save as ---- (select the .bmp format) shamelessly grabbed off google somewhere.

Don't have photoshop... but Internet Explorer could open it, and then I just took another screenshot of my Windows machine and cropped it.

I notice a lot of pictures that look busy.. The icons are hard to see against the background.
Here's mine. Forgive the numerous icons. THey were put there by my work. Picture is one I took years ago of the hull of a rusty old shipwreck in Maine. |
