Another way to look at it is that best selling singles indicate that people only liked the one song on the album.

I usually don't listen to pop but I have respect for Lady Gaga. She is actually pretty talented and her songs aren't extremely pretentious like most of them out there right now.

Our band is going to cover "Bad Romance" in our upcoming show. Its a pretty damn fun song to play.

She's quirky and I like that, but I wouldn't recognize her if I heard her on the radio.

Everything is selling.
You're looking at over 60 million units so far.
No artist has ever come close to these kinda numbers in such a short period of time, let alone in a long period of time.
Lets not forget, her debut was just last year.
Were watching history in the making.

I've never heard her, only recently heard of her. I'm going to remain ignorant as long as I can, like I did with Brittany.

We're talking about a song that is at the top of the charts at this moment in time, so your wikepidia stas need to be updated before you start refering to them don't ya think?
i never argued that your youtube-views numbers were incorrect; i pointed out that if you go by youtube-views dashboard confessional is beating the beatles.

if you think wikipedia is out of date, update it. you'll need a source, though. i'm guessing the RIAA list is also outdated; seems to be at roughly 2008.

I don't care about how rabid her fans are - see Milli Vanilli for example. She is an average talent. Her music is catchy.
Its just another sad example of very talented people being replaced by, well others who are not. You even named a couple. There are more.

WHIP is it her art form or her high success in commercialized pop music that you like so much? I am thinking the later because this is what you mention. In fact I don't see that you like her only admire her success?

Personally I appreciated the video that bluesky posted. I respect that much more.

(edit) Never mind. I see you said she was like crack cocaine.
