Well, I hunt for venison, which to my mind is more legitimate than just cutting the head off the deer and leaving the carcass behind. Unfortunately, there are some asswipes that do that around here. Lucky there are way too many deer.
The inch will be 12 at the end of Nov. The mm is 8.

oh I agree, I just still don't like it. I'd be vegetarian if meat didn't taste so good and the alternatives so awful

My grandson, Brian is turning 11 and in 5th grade. He is small for his age, always has been. He decided to play football on the community league and is as expected one of the smaller players. Sadly, their team was a new team for this league as their numbers had grown and instead of just drafting the kids into existing teams they started a couple of new teams and most of the kids have not played a lot so they have yet to win a game, let alone even score so far!
Here a couple of shots of him from last week, he is in the white uniform and the one taking a dive. The other team kept putting this big kid up against Brian because they knew he could easily get by him and go on to the next kid. But Brian kept trying to block him. The big kid was nice though, after he would knock Brian down he would give him a hand up and pat him on the back. |

That's a dangerous disparity. As long as the bigger kid is cool, no problem, but one slip of the temper, or just a misjudgment in force needed, can be serious.
That's why you should always carry a knife, then nobody can say you can't cut it.

Yeah, I think they have weight restrictions around here. Tell Brian to keep his chin up. He can play Sprint football when he hits college.

Chris - those pics bring back some ugly memories for me as a kid. I was that small too. Then in my early teens I took up a couple sports where size wasn't as important and excelled.

Just got a text from my son. He made it into the audition only high school symphonic band. He starts as a freshman next year. Rumor has it that only 4 freshmen were accepted. (Out of about 30 trying out.)
This is where I have to admit that it's mostly a numbers game and what instrument slots have openings, etc. etc. But the kid made it! Both glatt kids are in this band now! |

That's fabulous! Congrats to him -it's seriously hard to get into symphony as a freshman here -even if you are a fantastic player they're very cautious taking freshmen because of the maturity and unknown workload aspects. He must have really impressed them
